Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitarist. She received the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and also the first female recipient. Apart from nine Grammy nominations She was also the first Indian-born musician to perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka shankar is one of the rising stars of India's sitar. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her childhood was spent bouncing around from London in the UK to New Delhi. Her debut concert was in New Delhi at the tender age of 13. After moving to Encinitas, California in 1999, she was awarded a high-school diploma. Even though she's very young, Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording career. Her father has accompanied her in many performances for several years. The singer made Anourag her debut album on her own in 1998. A year later, she dropped the Grammy nominated album Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. She has performed at most famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka Shankar's career is not only limited to music. In 2002, she wrote an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is an illustrated biography that is a respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as a Bharat natyam young dancer in Dance Like a Man. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she'll continue to achieve great success in the future. Anoushka Shankar is an English born singer who travelled her early years between London, Delhi and California. She began studying music at the age nine and performed on the sitar for the 75th anniversary of her father's birth in Delhi just four years after. Anoushka, who accompanied her father during his world tour, gained a remarkable amount of experience. As a teenager, she performed in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison. The House of Commons Shield was awarded in her honor by the British Parliament for being the top Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and youngest recipient of this distinction.
